It's not easy for anyone to pull off a secret wedding, but when you're Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, it's nearly impossible...

So how on earth did this high-profile couple get married and keep it out of the news until after the ceremony?! These newlyweds are stealth, we'll give them that, but Mr. and Mrs. Theroux were really quite tactical in order to ensure their "I do's" stayed under wraps until the party was over!

For starters, they kept the guest list tight—close, trustworthy friends and family members only. There were big names in attendance—including Howard Stern, Jason Bateman, Lisa Kudrow Sia Furler, Samantha Ronson, Chelsea Handler, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt and more--but Jen and Justin's invitees understood and respected the fact that this was a private to-do. A single Instagram snap could've ruined the whole surprise, so social media savviness was mandatory for all invitees.

Jen, 46, and Justin played it smart with their choice of wedding venue, too. By having the ceremony and reception at the actress's L.A. home, they minimized the risk of logistical details being leaked to the press. Decorations and catering were brought in, yes, but they were likely delivered to the house under the guise that she was just having a party.

Speaking of parties, the wedding was timed so that it could've easily been a celebration of Justin's upcoming 44th birthday. The actual date is Aug. 10, which is this Monday, but throwing a fête just five days before that was a wise way to throw any wedding-watchers off the scent.

Tying the knot in a Wednesday was a clever ploy, too, because we typically think of weddings taking place on a Saturday or a Sunday. It's easier to dismiss a mid-week gathering as something more informal (like a B-Day party, perhaps), and this was clearly working in Jen and Justin's favor.

Last, but not least, Jen and Justin are not the fame-hungry type. Although both were excited about their engagement news, time and time again they played coy in interviews when asked when and where the big day would be. They also had a 3-year long engagement, so the fanfare leading up to their eventual wedding had a chance to cool off.

Of course, now that Jen and Justin are officially husband and wife, the world is celebrating with full fervor (and rightfully so)! Congratulations to the newlyweds, and props on pulling off one heck of a secret celebrity wedding!
