We may have just witnessed the sweetest TV show ending ever.

ABC Family's Melissa and Joey just came to an end after four seasons, but there were (almost) no tears to be had. Literally everything ended on a happy note, though we do kind of feel like we're now going to be missing out on a lot of story potential.

First of all, Mel (Melissa Joan Hart) has not one but two buns in the oven, and she was certainly not excited about that news, mostly due to the fact that potentially being a congresswoman while also raising two children seemed incredibly daunting, even if Joe (Joey Lawrence) were to stay home to take care of them.

She almost decided not to run, but changed her mind at the last second when she realized how much support she was going to have.

Of course, immediately after she made her campaign announcement, Joe learned that he had sold his book and was going to be heading out on a national book tour, but whatever. They'll figure it out...perhaps with the help of a hunky male nanny.

"Worked out for you before," Joe said, and Mel's response was perfect.

"Eh, jury's still out."

Meanwhile, Lennox and Zander made up enough to sleep together, attend a wedding together, get into a small car accident together, and then decide to get married...together.

They may be young, as Joe was quick to point out, but Mel was immediately supportive, especially when Lennox promised that the wedding wouldn't be any time soon (bumming Zander out, since he had his heart set on a June wedding).

After Ryder announced that the Navy was shipping him to "Ports-mouth," Virginia, the whole gang gathered for a sweet group hug to end the series, and we were almost overwhelmed with sweetness.

It was a great ending, but now we feel sort of bummed to be missing out on the potential hilarity of watching Congresswoman Mel try to raise newborn twins with Joe on a book tour, while Lennox and Zander try to make married life work somehow.

Guess we'll just wait a few years for that inevitable spin-off/reboot/revival/reunion/whatever!
