Donny Osmond's September concert schedule is having a bit of shake-up.

The 57-year-old performer announced today, via his rep, that he will soon undergo vocal surgery after a "hemorrhagic polyp (or bleeding lesion)" was discovered on his right vocal cord.

Harvard Medical School's Dr. Steven M. Zeitel, who has performed the same procedure for Adele, Sam Smith and Lionel Richie, will operate on Osmond in the near future, his rep says.

The upcoming surgery will put a number of Osmond's solo September engagements on hold, but he is expected to return to the stage at the Flamingo Hotel in October for the long-running "Donny & Marie" Las Vegas show.

Smith underwent a similar surgery back in May after doctors discovered a "small hemorrhagic" on his vocal cords, which forced him to cancel his Australian tour.

After the procedure, he wasn't able to speak for three weeks (doctor's orders!) but thankfully, he made a speedy and smooth recovery.

"Completely overwhelmed. Thank you so much Doctor Zeitels for everything," he wrote of an Instagram post in which he's smiling alongside his surgeon. "You have truly saved me this past few months. Such an amazing man. You truly truly truly don't know what you got until you lose it. I have fallen in love with music all over again over this past month, and more than ever I feel so blessed to be able to sing and do what I love every day xx."

Here's hoping Osmond's recovery is smooth-sailing, too!
