New details have emerged in the case of the man who was found dead in Demi Moore's swimming pool.

The Los Angeles Coroner's Office tells E! News that they have identified the victim as Edenilson Steven Valle of Los Angeles, and revealed that he was actually 23 years old (previous reports claimed the victim was 21 years old). Additionally, a source tells us Valle was a friend of Moore's assistant.

According to witnesses at the scene, it seems as though Valle either did not know how to swim or was not a good swimmer. The information continues to include that Edenilson had a couple of beers and wasn't much of a drinker.

His death is reported as a possible drowning, however, an autopsy is pending, along with a toxicology report.

"I am in absolute shock. I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news," Moore said in a statement to E! News.

"The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young mans family and friends. I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time."

Valle was found dead in the actress' Los Angeles home early on Sunday while Moore and her family were away.

Police and the fire department were notified via an anonymous 911 call. There were five people at the home when authorities arrived, a source told E! News at the time.

A Los Angeles Coroner's Office spokesperson told us that the man was pronounced dead at 5:34 a.m. The law enforcement source said the death was ruled accidental at 7:18 a.m.
