Talk about a surprise attack.
In The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Alicia Vikander slaps Armie Hammer in the face—and he had no idea it was coming.
Vikander says director Guy Ritchie pulled her aside and whispered that she should hit him. "Guy was like, 'Go over there and slap him,'" she told me at Comic-Con. "I was like, 'Can I?'"
So she did.
"[Armie] got a bit surprised the first time I did it," Vikander said. "The first time I did it, I was like, 'I'm sorry.'"
What transpired is a highly stylized fight between the two in an ostentatious hotel suite. "I think every scene we have in this movie has a certain flair and style to it that really only Guy Ritchie can bring to it," Hammer told me. "Even that scene, it's not just a tussle in a hotel room. It has a great beginning, a great development and a great end."

In the movie, an adaptation of the 1960s television series, Henry Cavill plays a (smokin' hot) CIA agent who teams up with a KGB spy (Hammer) to bring down an Italian criminal organization. Vikander plays the daughter of a German scientist who is key to infiltrating the bad guys.
Cavill and Hammer also have a drag out fight in a men's park bathroom.
"It's a lot fun, carefully choreographed, but if it goes wrong the great thing about Guy is he says, 'Go with it. Roll with it being wrong because fights aren't clean.' They're messy affairs and you look ridiculous. People when they're fighting for real in the street, they're basically hugging and rolling aorund on the floor. You don't see people doing flying back kicks."
Asked how many more Man From U.N.C.L.E. movies they're signed for, Cavill and Hammer joked about 15.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is in theaters Aug. 14.
