Former President George H.W. Bush is on the mend.

The 91-year-old Bush family patriarch was hospitalized Wednesday after breaking a vertebrae in his neck in a fall at the family's home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Bush spokesman Jim McGrath tweeted that the 41st president of the United States was "fine" and in stable condition, but will have to wear a neck brace.

The father of ex-President George W. Bush and recently declared Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush has been slowed by health issues in recent years, but he's been famously hale enough to skydive on his 80th, 85th and 90th birthdays.

Local CBS affiliate WGME reported that Bush is being treated at a hospital in Portland.

The former commander in chief, the oldest living president, is battling Parkinson's disease and has been using a wheelchair. He was hospitalized for a week at Christmas time with respiratory issues.
