Is there anything Jennifer Lawrence can't do?
After Conan O'Brien hosted The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 panel at San Diego Comic-Con Thursday, the TBS host invited Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson to appear on Conan. At one point, O'Brien complimented Lawrence on the success of "The Hanging Tree," which reached No. 1 after a dance version was released from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 soundtrack. "Oh, it was beautiful," Hutcherson said, to which Lawrence replied, "Shut up! F--k you!"
Lawrence said if she had made a fart sound, "It would've reached No. 1."
"It wasn't me. Singing in front of people is my biggest fear in the entire world."
That's not entirely true. As Hemsworth revealed, "She likes to sing on occasion."
After Hutcherson counted her in, Lawrence performed a rendition of the Cher's 1998 smash "Believe." After finishing, O'Brien said, " "Wow, that's fantastic."
Earlier in the show, the comedian asked the cast about their most fervent fans.
"Spaniards and Italians are very passionate," Lawrence said. Hutcherson agreed and recalled a specific incident. "When we went to Rome, they had military police with full-on machine guns with barriers holding back 12-year-old Italians. It was crazy. There was one point where we were down the carpet—we were almost finished—and I looked back and I saw a barricade fall over. My mind just flashed to a hoard of Italian Hunger Games fans sprinting at us," he said. Hemsworth added, "It was the first time where I've really seen an actual wave of people coming at me, like coming over the top of each other."
"It became a real Hunger Games," O'Brien joked.
The host added, "You guys were hunted through the streets of Rome."
The cast gets a kick out of the film franchise's casual fans, too. "They'll say, 'I've actually never seen The Hunger Games at all, but my daughter has, so I'd love to take a photo,'" Hemsworth said. Hutcherson has experienced similar fan interactions, telling O'Brien, "My favorite thing is when they say, 'I'm sorry. They say you're famous. Can we take a photo?' I'm like, 'I don't think so, man/woman.'"
In such instances, Lawrence said she tells people, "I am Jessica Chastain!"
