One Direction really does know how to light up our world like nobody else!
Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan gave fans an early Christmas present as they delivered an inside look into their busy schedule on the road.
Appropriately tiled One Direction: The TV Special, the hour-long NBC event gave Directioners a full-on mini concert. Oh, and did we mention one of the lads was in his underwear? (But more on that later!)
If you missed out on the special, here are a few highlights that had us saying this was the "Best Night Ever!"
1) One Direction Takes Over the World: In never-before-seen footage, fans of the boy band got to see the guys travel to Buenos Aires, Peru, Colombia and other destinations around the world.
When they weren't trying to escape complete pandemonium in unmarked vans, the guys managed to snap a few selfies as a group. "It really was an amazing experience," Zayn shared after their trip across South America and the world. "It's one we'll never forget."
2) Recording Music in Hotels?!: The work for a boy band never stops! When not traveling by plane or performing to a sold-out crowd, the guys always made it a priority to record new music.
They were so devoted that they chose to make music in a hotel room one evening. With help from producer John Ryan, the guys let their voices take over, next to a king-size bed of all things.
3) 1D's Endless Surprises: If there's one thing we learned from the special, it's the fact that these guys pay it forward with their fans.
From Harry shocking folks on a ride in Harry Potter Land to Niall buying candy for unsuspecting shoppers, we just couldn't get enough. The highlight, however, was when Harry and Liam surprised an audience full of teenage girls. SO MANY SCREAMS!
4) Every Single Die-Hard Directioner: Speaking of screams, it's really hard not to fall in love with all the youngsters who would do anything just to touch one of the boys' hands.
Nothing, however, beats when one girl started crying at the sight of one of Harry's fedoras. Keep calm and carry on, ladies.
5) Niall Horan in His Underwater: There's really no words needed to explain this. Just watch this Vine over and over again!
6) Best Songs Ever: Behind all the good looks and charming accents come some pretty decent songs that can make anyone want to get up and dance.
Throughout the show, fans were treated to favorites like "What Makes You Beautiful," "Night Changes" and "Steal My Girl." And what better way to close the special than with "Best Song Ever"? 1D knows their fans so well!
