Geraldo Rivera's shirtless selfies are back!

The 71-year-old journalist and TV personality tweeted a half-naked gem Sunday, showcasing his surprisingly buff bod with a body of water in the background!

Oddly enough, though, Geraldo didn't address his pectoral muscles, bicep tattoo or sparse chest hair in the text accompanying his sexy (?) snap. Instead, he gave commentary—well, criticism—of President Barack Obama's handling of the ongoing crisis in Syria.

"Kobani is the real Benghazi," he wrote (Kobani is a Syrian town which was under threat from ISIS forces Sunday; Kurdish defenders, assisted by U.S. military forces, were able to defend the region), "the besieged fortress where president really can & must save heroic defenders."

Why Geraldo posted a shirtless selfie with his political commentary is TBD, although it was effective in getting more people to talk about the United States' involvement in the situation in the Middle East.

Rivera's previous provocative pics have been a bit more straightforward in their intent, though. Last year, for example, the Fox News correspondent tweeted a shirtless selfie for the sake of tweeting a shirtless selfie!

"70 is the new 50," wrote the former talk show host, who wore only a towel in the photo. He noted that wife Erica Levy and his family "are going to be so pissed," but reasoned that "at my age," he might as well show off his hard work!

Fortunately for Geraldo, the wife wasn't "pissed" at all! "This is exactly the kind of thing that happens when I fall asleep first," she told E! News exclusively. "Thank god we have towels in the bathroom. But I'm proud my husband looks so hot!"

Geraldo changed his mind about showing so much skin on social media back in 2013, though. He deleted the racy shot, adding later, "Note to self: no tweeting after 1am."

Looks like Geraldo didn't learn his lesson the first time around!
