TRH The Duke and Duchess of CambridgeWhen it comes to Prince George's christening, Prince William and Kate Middleton are clearly doing things a bit differently.
In particular, when it comes to picking their little one's godparents.
According to The Sunday Times, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are breaking from the tradition of choosing royal family members and asking close friends instead.
Three of George's six godparents are expected to be Fergus Boyd, who went to Eton with William; Kate's Marlborough College friend Emilia d'Erlanger; and Hugh van Cutsem, one of William's oldest pals.
Other contenders said to be in the running to fill the remaining slots include William's best friend Thomas van Straubenzee, Kate's friend Alicia Fox-Pitt as well as William and Prince Harry's former nanny, Tiggy Pettifer.
Of course, we won't know for sure until the actual christening, which is scheduled to take place on Oct. 23 at The Chapel Royal, St. James's Palace.
What's more, a press rep for William and Kate told E! News that the ceremony will "be a private and intimate family event."
Meanwhile, three days after the christening, William is scheduled to attend The Football Association's 150th Anniversary gala dinner at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. Earlier this month, he hosted the first-ever football (aka soccer) match at Buckingham Palace.
