Jay Leno is heading out, Jimmy Fallon is coming in, and no surprise, Jimmy Kimmel is a happy camper.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live host, who has made no secret of his feelings for Leno, is apparently a fan of Fallon, tweeting congratulations to his late-night rival after NBC formally announced the funnyman will take over the Tonight Show chair in spring 2014.
"congratulations to my dear, sweet @jimmyfallon- a formidable rival and an incredible lover," he posted on his micro-blogging page.
As for Fallon's Late Night successor?
Saturday Night Live staple Seth Meyers is said to be the current frontrunner for the 12:35 a.m. time slot, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which first broke the news of Leno's imminent departure.
(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
