The National Rifle Association's latest press conference did not sit well with many, if Twitter is anything to go by.

On Friday, one week after the tragic Newtown, Conn., school shooting, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre called for armed security guards in all the nation's schools and blamed video games and the media for the increase of violence in America. "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun," he said.

Celebrities, for the most part, didn't seem to agree. Many stars took to Twitter to respond LaPierre's address.

Kristen Bell: "The @NRA needs mental health care."

Rachel Maddow: "The NRA has rickrolled the whole country into watching just another standard Wayne LaPierre stump speech saying we need more guns."

Denis Leary: "Apparently there is no background check on electing an NRA Executive Vice President."

Tom Colicchio: "Did the #NRA and La Pierre just "shoot themselves in the foot "

Sophia Bush: "Ridiculous"

Adrian Grenier: "You have got to be kidding me. NRA is looking to put MORE guns in schools! These people are insensitive and unethical."

Star Jones: "Please Mr. President, when you create the "national mentally ill database"...put #NRA Wayne LaPierre at the top of that list. He's a nut."

Aziz Ansari: "Hahahahhaha RT '@ChaseMit: Just want to point out the NRA's plan to stop school shootings is literally the plot of Kindergarten Cop.'"

Ronan Farrow: "I agree with Wayne LaPierre: the problem is Bret Easton Ellis fans in 1991. #NRAPresser"

Mark Cuban: "I think the NRA press conference is what the Mayans had in mind when they said the world would come to an end today."

Patton Oswalt: ".@NRA But can't schools be built INSIDE gigantic, fully automatic assault rifles?"

Piers Morgan: "The one guaranteed outcome of Wayne Lapierre's press conference: U.S. gun sales will soar even higher in next few days. #NRA #DeadlySpiral"

Seth Meyers: "NRA: If we banned schools there would never be another school shooting."

Michael Moore: "NRA head says everyone is to blame but them. The most deranged, delusional 'press conference' I've ever seen...I believe I've been excommunicated. The reason I joined was my original idea for the film was to run against Heston for NRA president."

Bette Midler: "NRA says we need armed guards at every school. Well, since NRA IS SHILLING FOR THE FIREARMS INDUSTRY, this makes good sense for them.."
