The horrific shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., has left a grieving nation in shock after a man gunned down at 26 people Friday morning, including 20 children.

The massacre has once again fired up a charged debate about gun control and thrust it into the national spotlight as celebrities sound off on the hot-button issue—a collective burst of anger, disgust and frustration.

Susan Sarandon: "How much more suffering & loss will it take before we better regulate the sale of arms in our country? Let @NRA know how you feel."
