Arrested Development's development has been arrested. But just for a bit!

Netflix, which is bringing the beloved but not-watched-enough Fox sitcom back, is apparently very enamored with what's happening on set so far, enough so that it's looking like they'll be expanding upon their initial 10-episode order.

"We took holiday break early because we have way more material than just the 10 episodes," a show source tells E! News. "So we are going to shoot as many as we can make. All good news for the fans."

Darn straight!

David Cross told Rolling Stone all the way back in August that it seemed like they had way too much material for only 10 episodes.

Deadline.com is reporting, meanwhile, that creator Mitch Hurwitz could have enough dysfunction in the can for as many as 12 to 15 episodes. No wonder the cast and crew need their rest while they can get it!

While once there was talk of resuscitating the Bluth family in a feature film, ultimately Netflix came forward with the best plan—more TV. Better yet, the DVD and streaming service is planning on a spring 2013 premiere date by which the entire new season will be available to watch.

"We are thrilled with the direction of the show, with the footage we have seen and with the relationship between Mitch, Imagine, 20th and Netflix," a Netflix spokeswoman told Deadline. "At this time, we are not confirming or announcing the final episode count but we are sure fans will be thrilled when we do."
