It's time to meet Canada's version of Mark Zuckerberg!
Well, at least Degrassi's version of the Facebook creator! Though the fictional social media site Face Range has long been a part of the TeenNick hit series, we've never learned about its creator...until now!
In Friday's upcoming Las Vegas special, ambitious overachiever Katie (Chloe Rose) turns to the CEO for some financial help and we've got an exclusive sneak peek at their interesting negotiation process, which includes an awesome Pretty Woman reference!
So why is Katie asking the CEO of a huge company for a $5,000 loan? Because she gambled away her savings account the night before! No, she hasn't developed a gambling addiction à la Degrassi original Marco (Adamo Ruggiero); she was just trying to win tuition money for Stanford University. As Katie says, she's "not that kind of girl."
In exchange for the fast cash, the CEO asks Katie spend the afternoon with him, but not in a gross, sexual way; he wants to run some Face Range ideas by her, as she's "young, smart and ambitious." But do we trust him?!
Similar to previous specials, which found the gang in Hollywood and New York City, Degrassi will travel to Las Vegas for Drew (Luke Bilyk) and Bianca's (Alicia Josipovic) wedding, which Adam (Jordan Todosey), Fiona (Annie Clark) and Imogen (Cristine Prosperi) are trying to help make happen. Meanwhile, Katie, Jake (Justin Kelly), Marisol (Shanice Barton) and Mo (Jake Neayem) are supposed to be heading to Mexico, but a canceled flight forces them to change their plans and head to Vegas as well!
