Maybe diamonds aren't always a girl's best friend?

E! News confirms that a jewelry design company has filed a lawsuit against Sharon Osbourne for breach of contract, claiming she backed out of a deal that resulted in the company losing over $500,000. Yikes!

Here are the deets...

Lucas Design International Inc. claimed in court papers filed in Los Angeles Superior court that they entered into an oral agreement with Osbourne in February 2011, "for the design and promotion of a Sharon Osbourne jewelry collection."

The company's lawsuit states it went ahead with the design of the collection, which was to be sold on Home Shopping Network, and "Ms. Osbourne approved the Collection that was to be shown HSN."

But it turned out that by November, Osbourne allegedly backed out and contacted the company through her agent saying she would no longer be working with them.

Lucas Design wants compensation for "the reasonable value of their work, labor services and materials." They also want unspecified compensatory damages and court costs.
