Here's one for the scrapbook.

Country star Randy Travis was busted in Dallas early this morning for public intoxication in front of a Baptist church, E! News has learned.

Maybe his money was on the Patriots last night? Here's what we know...

Travis, 52, was taken into custody after he was found drinking an open bottle of wine in front of the Sanger Baptist Church in Sanger, Texas.

According to the police report, a passing officer noticed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. After approaching the entertainer who was behind the wheel, Travis informed him that he had just had a fight with his girlfriend. The officer noticed his speech was slurred and smelled alcohol on his breath and the singer repeatedly asked the cop to take him home.

Instead, Travis ended up being booked at approximately 1:30 a.m. into the Denton County Jail on the citation, a misdemeanor, and released a few hours later. His car was also towed.

The Grammy winner issued a statement today via his publicist lamenting the incident.

"I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl," Travis said in a statement. "I'm committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions."

The country crooner has not had good luck in the area. Last September Travis briefly collapsed on stage during a concert there after he had a bad reaction to a decongestant allergy medication. He later resumed his tour as scheduled. The year before that he also filed for divorce from his wife of 19 years.
