We presume the Carter family wants answers.

An autopsy was performed this morning on 25-year-old Leslie Carter, who died suddenly on Tuesday in upstate New York, the Chautauqua County Coroner's Office confirmed to E! News.

What did the medical examiner find?

"There were no visible signs of trauma," coroner Richard Mackowiak said. "We are awaiting a toxicology report to determine a cause of death."

Standard procedure.

"The body has been released to the family," Mackowiak added. "Results of the toxicology test are made public at the discretion of the family."

And, if toxicology in Chautauqua County is anything like toxicology in Los Angeles County, those test results should be ready in about four to six weeks, unless they're ordered expedited for some reason.

Leslie is survived by her 9-month-old daughter, Alyssa Jane; her husband, Mike; her parents; and four siblings, including singers Aaron and Nick Carter.
