In a town full of tiny blondes, Lily Collins turns heads with her luscious amber locks and mighty brows (a la Brooke Shields), showing young girls that true beauty does not fit a cookie-cutter mold in the new issue of Seventeen

Though it may be hard to believe, the bold young actress who stars in Mirror, Mirror—and goes up against Kristen Stewart's Snow White and the Huntsman this spring—was not always so confident in her own brows…er, we mean, skin.

In her interview with Seventeen, the 22-year-old daughter of singer Phil Collins shares her insecurities. Lily, now recognized for her prominent eyebrows, recalls plucking them to fit in before realizing "the quirky things that make you different are what make you beautiful."

To which we say: Way to go, Lil! We love to see such a young beauty handing the spotlight with grace and we think you make a par-fait role model for women.

But Lily isn't the only Hollywood star who's tackling her haters head-on.

Remember when Miley Cyrus got tons of flack for a putting on a few pounds? And instead of staying mum with embarrassment, gal fought back with a self-empowering tweet?

Or The Help's Octavia Spencer, who recently criticized the unrealistic pressures placed on Hollywood actresses to be stick-skinny. We love the babe for reassuring Tinseltown it's just fine to eat that cheeseburger (or veggie-burger).

Heck, even the divalicious Lea Michele can poke fun at her prominent schnoz in the 3-D Glee concert movie:

"My nose is going to look fabulous," Lea remarked.

Love! With all the pressures to look a certain way, it's encouraging to know Hollywood's young women are jumping on the self-empowerment train.

Climb on board, everybody!
