Well, this would certainly be an inconvenient truth. If only it were true.

Two weeks to the day was all it took for the inevitable accusations of cheating to emerge from Al and Tipper Gore's marital fallout, but while the rumors are hardly a surprise, the celebrity they rope in certainly is: Larry David.

Yep, this could get pret-ty, pret-ty, pret-ty bad. Or at least it would if, once again, it were true.

"The rumor is completely and totally untrue," Laurie David said in a statement. "I adore Al and Tipper and consider them part of my family. I'm in a committed relationship and couldn't be happier."

Camp Gore has not yet released an official statement on the rumor, but a source close to the politico echoed David's comments, telling E! News, "There is no truth to the Star report."

A source close to David also branded the rumor "absolutely false."

But it is easy to see where they came up with the tale.

Both environmental activists, the duo grew friendly several years ago when David produced Gore's Oscar-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. Laurie and Larry David divorced amicably back in 2007, although their split, incidentally enough, was marred by accusations of Laurie's infidelity.

An anonymous (aren't they always?) insider sparked the rumor by telling Star, "Al and Laurie went from friends to lovers. It couldn't be avoided."

Sorry to burst your bubble, anonymous insider, but apparently it could be.
