Well, well, well. Guess we know who won custody of George Clooney's affections in the divorce.

The Cloonmeister's GF du jour, Elisabetta Canalis, seemed to make her alliance pretty clear this week, when she broke all manner of twitiquette by comparing Jennifer Aniston to Iggy Pop.

And just in case you were wondering, no, Iggy Pop is neither a secret Mediterranean style icon nor some cute Italian term of endearment. So, flattering comparison, right? Right…if only that's what she said.

Luckily for the dignity of everyone involved, she didn't tweet that. She retweeted it (big difference!). Or rather, she retweeted this:

"RT @alecattelan: sto sfogliando il nuovo Rolling Stone. Iggy Pop in copertina e il sosia di Jennifer Aniston."

All clear now? We'll save you the trouble of Googling the translation. It reads: "I'm browsing again through the pages of Rolling Stone. Iggy Pop on the cover looks exactly like Jennifer Aniston." Finer points of the language aside, what you've got there is a comparison between Aniston and, uh, Pop.

Though one that, it must be said, was not made by Canalis. But don't take our word for it. Take hers:

"I JUST READ ON GOOGLE That I TWEETED something bad about J Aniston, let me be clear,it's a complete LIE,I would never do that!!" she wrote yesterday.  Uh, twice.

Putting aside the fact that Canalis is depriving the sisterhood their piece of Clooney and therefore must be brought down, it seems to us like the lightheartedness behind this one simply got lost in translation.

So let's take Elisabetta's good intentions at her (English) word. Besides, everyone knows when Italian women don't like you, they don't waste time hiding behind a language barrier. As long as her next tweet doesn't liken Aniston to a prostitution whore, this is one feud that isn't just over. It never began.
