Kim Cattrall is thisclose to landing her next role in the Big Apple.

The Sex and the City temptress tells me she'd love to star on Broadway in the comedy Private Lives.

Why?

She recently appeared in a critically-acclaimed production of the 1930 Noel Coward play for two months in London's West End.

"I had a blast doing it," Cattrall said. "I had so much fun, so I really hope it happens. It's just a matter of scheduling."

Cattrall will be back in the U.K. in the fall for a limited-run production of Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra in Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Cynthia Nixon is reportedly going to be jumping the pond to star in a new West End staging of As Bees in Honey Drown. She actually appeared in the play when it originally ran on Broadway in 1997.

Now, if someone could just put together a Sex and the City musical. Hey, if they could do it with Shrek, Sex shouldn't be that hard, right?
