Ricky Martin joins a list of celebs who aren't exactly shocking us with the news that they're gay

When Ricky Martin announced yesterday he was gay, the info wasn't the surprising news, but the fact that he went public with it was. 

The Latin superstar's sexuality was one of those things most people assumed. For years, there were rumors, tabloid reports and, from time to time, even paparazzi shots of him with very hot mystery men, fueling the gay fire.

But Martin isn't the first to not exactly shock us with the gay revelation. Read on for our list of the top least surprising Tinseltown coming-outs…

Adam Lambert: Glambert hadn't confirmed his sexuality while competing on American Idol, but that didn't stop the media from speculating ad nausea whether the public was ready for an openly gay AI winner. Shortly after he lost to Kris Allen, he finally came out in Rolling Stone.

Lance Bass: When the former boy-band member started dating openly gay Amazing Race winner Reichen Lehmkuhl, the gossip blogs pounced with romance reports and photos of the two vacationing in New England's gay mecca, Provincetown, Mass. Bass decided to open up about his private life in People magazine. The news was so big, he bumped Johnny Depp off that week's cover.

Clay Aiken: Some Claymates were so shocked to learn their fave AI contestant was gay that they threatened to file a lawsuit against him. But they appeared to be the only folks out there who didn't have a clue—even after alleged personal ads posted by Aiken on gay dating websites were leaked on the Internet. A month after the singer announced the birth of his son in August 2008, he pulled a Lance Bass and talked about being gay in People.

Sean Hayes: The actor was so convincing playing the sterotypically very gay Jack McFarland on Will & Grace, everyone assumed the work wasn't much of a stretch. However, he never spoke publicly about his private life until earlier this month, when he did so in gay magazine The Advocate.
