ABCEven after Battlestar Galactica ends its run on the Sci Fi Channel next month, it seems as if there will still be more than enough related interplanetary entertainment to take us Earthlings well into the next Cylon War.
Though fans had probably been hoping for a more Edward James Olmos-themed addition to the canon, Universal is in talks with Glen A. Larson, the creator of the original 1970s-era ABC incarnation, to bring BSG to the big screen in a whole new-old way.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, the film would have no connection to the present-day series and would relaunch the familiar story in a new medium, but major characters such as Adama and Starbuck will be present and accounted for.
But just in case this idea never gets off the ground, we've still got Sci Fi's upcoming prequel series Caprica, from BSG 2.0 creator Ronald D. Moore, to look forward to in 2010.
A two-hour pilot movie kicking off the story of the two rival families that unwittingly unleash the Cylons on humanity, starring Esai Morales, Paula Malcolmson and Eric Stoltz, will be available by digital download or on DVD April 21.
