Katie Holmes: I Don't Read About Myself Online

Katie Holmes, T Magazine Cover Courtesy of T: The New York Times Style Magazine

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes get his 'n' hers Old Hollywood-style T Magazine covers in this Sunday's New York Times. And yeah, we'd like to know why Suri Cruise didn’t get her own, too. But then again, we want to know why Suri isn’t on every magazine cover.

However, Katie does give us plenty of adorable details on our favorite little fashion icon. For instance, after seeing Hairspray twice now, Suri thinks Tracy Turnblad is her friend and waves to her. And for Halloween, when Katie asked what Suri wanted to be, she responded with "Halloween.” And so Katie designed matching orange outfits for them both.

But perhaps our favorite Suri deet is...

Anne Hathaway Takes Big Step Toward Oscar

Anne Hathaway, Rachel Getting Married Sony

Anne Hathaway is starting off award-season right.

Hathaway was named Best Actress today by the National Board of Review for her indie turn in Rachel Getting Married. The win came days after Hathaway notched an Independent Spirit nomination.

Slumdog Millionaire, the feel-good fable set in the slums of India, was named Best Picture. The Dark Knight represented for blockbuster Hollywood, tapped as one of the NBR's Top 10 Films. (The NBR doesn't do nominations—just winners and best-movie lists.)

Clint Eastwood, who's usually honored these days for directing, was named Best Actor for his turn as a crank in the upcoming Gran Torino, which he also, yes, directed. Like The Dark Knight, Eastwood's other 2008 film, Changeling, was honored as an NBR Top 10 film. Changeling star Angelina Jolie was shut out.

Eastwood's acting win meant Jolie partner Brad Pitt didn't win, either.

Spencer Pratt: We Won't Go Home for Holidays

Imagine, if you will, a Speidi-free Christmas. Nice, right?

Well, for Heidi Montag's mom, Darlene Egelhoff, it might be just that in the wake of scathing remarks she made to Us Weekly accusing her new son-in-law, Spencer Pratt, of drugging her daughter prior to their secret nuptials in Mexico.

"After that statement, the Pratts, as in Heidi Pratt and Spencer Pratt, will probably have their own Christmas tree out here," Spencer told E! News' Ryan Seacrest Thursday when asked if they'd be spending the holidays with the in-laws.

Heidi echoed the sentiment in a statement she put out Thursday…

Fate Worse Than Marriage to Britney? Hubby No. 1 Locked Up in L.A.

Too bad his quickie wedding to Britney Spears didn't last as long as his current stint in the slammer.

Authorities in Los Angeles have locked up Jason Alexander—not the Seinfeld star but the childhood pal who spent all of two days married to Spears back in 2004—for a probation violation stemming from a 2006 DUI bust.

Per Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore, the 27-year-old Alexander appeared in court today to explain why he skipped two previous appointments as part of a court-ordered alcohol-education program.

Apparently the judge wasn't swayed by Alexander's excuse, and the former Britney bridegroom was sent to lockup.

"Mr. Alexander will now serve 10 days in the L.A. County jail," Whitmore tells E! News.

In one of her bigger oops moments, Spears swapped vows with Alexander in Vegas Jan. 3, 2004, only to file for annulment 55 hours later on the grounds that she lacked the understanding to know what she was doing.

Kathy Griffin on Clay Aiken: "He Was Not Very Nice"

More from Marc Malkin

Kathy Griffin really wants to be friends with Clay Aiken, but it doesn't sound like the American Idol warbler wants anything to do with her.

The loudmouth comedian says she tried to make good with Aiken—whom she pegged "Gayken" in her standup act long before he came out of the closet—backstage during Rosie O'Donnell's Thanksgiving variety show.

Fan Geek Battle Royale: Potter vs. Twilight

Daniel Radcliffe, Robert Pattinson Warner Bros., Peter Sorel/ Summit Entertainment

The Twilighters are hissing and the Potterphiles are brandishing their wands credit cards.

J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter-inspired The Tales of Beedle the Bard, lands on bookstore shelves today, sending salivating fans queuing up for a copy of the five stories that guided Harry, Ron and Hermione through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Borders and Barnes & Noble haven't seen lines like this since the August release of Breaking Dawn, the record-breaking fourth installment in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series.

The vampire romance has stolen some of Potter's magical thunder—as well as the hearts of fan(g)girls—at the bookstore, and at the box office, Twilight cashed in after taking over the release date vacated by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

We just want to know who would win in a head to scarred-head clash: Harry vs. Edward, Daniel Radcliffe vs. Robert Pattinson or J.K. vs. Stephenie?

How to Celebs Do Their Xmas Shopping?

Reese Witherspoon Flynetonline.com
More from Ask the Answer Bitch

How about a shopping question for the season? Do stars have assistants do it for them, and are they above ordering anything that the great unwashed can also have?
—Beth in Ohio

Don't you watch those Macy's commercials? Jessica Simpson has nothing else to do but hang out in department stores, shop, flip that Barbie hair and shop some more, y'all!

In truth, celebrities do get involved in their Christmas shopping. Some even leave the house (hi, Reese!) And when it comes to hiring a good person to actually do most of that shopping, stars get way, way involved. Just ask Distinctive Assets owner Lash Fary, a professional gifter whose clients include Sharon Stone, Leah Remini, Ugly Betty's Judith Light and one cutie-pie TV star who prefers to be contacted through her mother...

Ms. Winfrey Goes to Washington

D.C. is about to get a taste of the big O.

It's been confirmed that Oprah Winfrey will be leaving the cozy confines of Harpo's Chicago studios the day before President-Elect Barack Obama's inauguration in order to broadcast a live episode of her daytime chatfest from patriotic ground zero, Washington, D.C.

The program will air live on Monday, Jan. 19, from the Kennedy Center's opera house. A second live-from-D.C. show is being planned two days later, though a Harpo rep told The New York Times that details for the show—including any potential extra special guests Winfrey may or may not have publicly campaigned for—are still being worked out.

Which means, while she may have scuttled this year's Favorite Things bonanza out of respect for the economic crisis, she may still get the chance to showcase her most favorite thing of all—the 44th president of the United States.

Information on how to get tickets for the special episodes will be made available on Oprah.com next week.

Amanda Bynes & Hills Player Doug Reinhardt Dating

We never would have imagined Amanda Bynes getting anywhere near the Hills world. But it seems we had her all wrong, because she is apparently dating the dude who was too boring for even Lauren Conrad: Doug Reinhardt.

And yes, we know what you’re thinking. Last we heard, she was dating Seth MacFarlane (or the smartest person in TV, according to Entertainment Weekly). So how would she go from the Family Guy creator to the son of the frozen burrito inventor and injured minor league baseball player?

Well, it all started, as so many young Hollywood romances do...
